The Bible and Those In Authority


Fear grips the Church of America. Fear grips the American people. Fear grips every individual who wakes up to this day that we now call reality. The “pandemic” started in January when the media got wind of the first Covid case here in the United States. In my last article, I proved to my readers that this virus was no worse than the seasonal flu. You disagree? Feel free to comment on that article. What I wish to discuss here in this paper is the stance that the Church of America has willingly chosen to adopt. Before I do so, allow me to present a list of Conspiracy Theories that have arisen regarding this virus and the days to come: 
1.    This virus was created by the Chinese government to put a stop to the riots spreading across their country.
2.    The Virus was created in a lab in Wuhan 
3.    The virus is a Biological weapon created by the Chinese to take down the American government 
4.    The places where the Virus hit the hardest, are places where factories are located that supply our most important products for the United States
5.    Bill Gates and Dr. Fauci are in cahoots and funded the lab where the virus was created
6.    Bill Gates is for population control, created the virus, and now is creating the vaccine to help the American people
7.    The Democrats want to keep the states on lockdown so that they can force the American people to do mail in ballots this next election which are easily manipulated and can go “missing” 
8.    Bill Gates has created a cryptocurrency system using body activity data by installing a chip in the persons hand…the patent number for this chip is WO2020060606(https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/detail.jsf?docId=WO2020060606). It will tell if someone has the vaccine and will restrict people form buying or selling if they don’t have this implanted
9.    The American people will be forced to take a mandatory vaccine for the Coronavirus and wont be able to run their businesses, go to school, buy or sell, hold a driver’s license, etc. without it. 
10.  Every year, every flu season, the American people will go through this same “pandemic” and the restrictions will get worse as the American people will become more and more complacent
11.  This virus is real but not as bad as the Media says it is. The Democrats want to tank the economy is a final ditch effort to keep Trump from getting re-elected

            These are some of the conspiracy theories that are being spread around. Some of these theories are very scary. The mark of the Beast? Not being able to buy or sell? A rigged election? Biological war? What is going on in this country? Protests have become more and more popular as many Americans have begun to open their eyes to this chaos around us.  And yet, there are some of those in authority who would have my fellow Americans and Christians ignorant of what we, the people, are capable of. 
Church services have moved to an online format and recently, some pastors, both local and distant, have decided to give sermons on current affairs. Pastor Larry Osborne and Chris Brown of North Coast Church, Pastor Jonathan Rourke or Tri-City Christian Church, Pastor Wes Morris of The Rock in Fenton Michigan, just to name a few. They have twisted Scripture in such a way that strips the American people of the power they hold. Whether they twist the Scripture on purpose, or they do so unknowingly, I do not know. But what you have heard from these individuals is not true. 
They have claimed that none of us has the authority to set the rules and the regulations. They quote verses like Romans 13:1 “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God” and 1 Peter 2 “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.” These verses look pretty cut and dry when applied to all governments everywhere throughout all of time… and yet…. Something is different. This country, this government, is like no other. We are not like the Roman Republic, even though these Pastors would like you to believe it so. They argue that unless the government is telling you to do something contrary to Scripture—unless they are commanding you to sin—then you must obey them. The premise of these arguments that these Pastors present rest upon one thing: WHO is in authority. We are called to submit ourselves to the governing authorities, but who are these authorities? 
America was founded by the people, for the people, and of the people. Do you want to know who is in authority? Those in authority are the ones to whom the Governors, mayors, senators, and President have to answer…. the People. We are the ones in authority and that is something that the ignorant and the corrupt want the American people to forget. What some of these Governors have forgotten is that they are not Feudal Lords and we are not serfs. They have forgotten that we make the laws and we choose who is and remains in office.
            These Pastors want us to believe that to claim “popular sovereignty” is to claim that we choose America over God. That is not true, nor has it ever been. They want to condemn those who are standing up against the government as being disobedient towards God’s Word, but they will shirk form being consistent in their sermons. You see, if they want to condemn those who are standing up to these self-imposed dictators, they must also condemn the founding fathers. They must also cast a dark shadow over the birth of America. The English never forced the colonies to sin. The crime that the English committed was that they refused to endow the Colonies with equal rights as citizens. The Boston Tea Party should never had happened according to these Pastors. 
Don’t be fooled into thinking that you must choose between God and Country. Our rights and authority were endowed by God when we created this God-fearing country. Have you not read the Declaration of Independence?  
“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.
We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they are accustomed.” 
Do you see it? “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed.” Don’t let these Pastors twist Scripture so that we have no rights aside from the ones that the Governors deign to give us. Don’t let these Pastors demonize what America stands for. Don’t let them demonize the founding fathers and all those who fought for what we have. Do you really want to know where your Pastor stands? Ask them this question… do we have the right to protest? If they answer yes, then they admit the people have the power and in so doing they contradict their very sermons. If they say no, then they believe we do not have the rights set forth by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and they are not American. They can still be misguided Christians, but they are not American. 
If we allow this government to continue to control us this way—If they force us to do what we wish not to do. When will it stop? If we adopt these views that these Pastors put forth, then we will bury our rights and set this country on a path leading to complete submission to those who seek their own glory. If you claim to be Christian and you claim to stand for what is right and true, then protect your home and defend our God given authority. 
To you misguided Pastors I say this… I know how easy it is to preach peace. How easy it is to turn a blind eye and simply “go with the flow.” It is our duty as Christians to uphold and defend our God given authority and freedom. Do not make this a choice between being American or being Christian. You claim that the Governors of the States have the power, but you are wrong. In this country, the People have the power to uphold the Constitution. 

In conclusion, as a Christian American, we must first seek to uphold Scripture. We must first love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. What we choose to do, and not do,
in our lives should be fueled by our love for Christ. He lives in and through us. It is a sin to contradict Scripture. It is a sin to disobey those who are actually in authority. My fellow Christian Americans, your rights and freedoms are at stake. They will not be taken away in the twinkling of an eye, but it will be an ever gradual process. We willingly conceded to a quarantine and to the suspensions of our civil liberties because we were gripped with fear stemming from false narratives. You have the right to protest. You have the right to defend your freedoms and way of life. As a Christian you have the same rights as all endowed by our Creator. Now practice those rights and say no to tyranny.
